What's the Epoxy Flooring System Structure?

Do you know the epoxy flooring system structure? The structure of floor coating can be divided into three parts from bottom to top: primer, floating coating and surface coating. And do you know what's the function of them?

Primer of Epoxy Flooring System Structure:

The primer requires good permeability, no pigment filler, and good alkali resistance.
Its functions are as follows:
1. Close the concrete pores to eliminate the tidal bulge problem caused by,and enhance moisture-proof fixing effect.
2. Strengthen the bonding strength of the base surface.

3. Increase the adhesion between the base layer and each layer.

Floating Coating:

The middle coating is mainly composed of film-forming materials and aggregates that improve mechanical properties, such as quartz sand.
Its functions are as follows:

1. Effectively fill the surface voids of the concrete base and improve the strength of the floor system.

2. Make the surface of the floor smooth and easy to paint. The thickness of the intermediate coating is controlled at 0.5-3mm.

Surface Coating:

The topcoat is direct contact with environment and air. The aesthetic effect of the epoxy floor also depends on the surface coating. For topcoats, it is generally required to have good abrasion resistance and mechanical strength,so that it can resist the external shocks and the effects of ground thermal expansion and contraction.In addition, the surface decoration effect of topcoat is very good, if necessary, it also has anti-slip and corrosion resistance.
